Electrical Engineering Laboratory
Experiment: Power Supplies

Experiment Aims
- Recognize and distinguish between AC and DC power supplies and their specifications
- Properly connect the power supply to the experimental circuit
- Calibrate the power supply output using a voltmeter
Introduction
A power supply is a device that provides electrical energy to one or more electric loads. It converts one form of electrical energy to another or converts other energy types into electrical energy.
A regulated power supply controls the output voltage or current to a nearly constant value despite variations in load or input voltage.
Experiment Tools
- Different types of power supplies
- Voltmeter
- Electric wires for connection
