Experiment: Power Supplies

Power Supply Experiment

Experiment Aims

  • Recognize and distinguish between AC and DC power supplies and their specifications
  • Properly connect the power supply to the experimental circuit
  • Calibrate the power supply output using a voltmeter

Introduction

A power supply is a device that provides electrical energy to one or more electric loads. It converts one form of electrical energy to another or converts other energy types into electrical energy.

A regulated power supply controls the output voltage or current to a nearly constant value despite variations in load or input voltage.
